WFSAD's Activities: Advocate

WFSAD is the only worldwide grassroots education, support and advocacy organization focusing on families of people with schizophrenia and allied disorders.

Advocate - Fighting for policies and services to protect the rights of families and improve care. Sharing innovative strategies and tools for fighting stigma.

In WFSAD’s October 2006 Stakeholder Survey, and the 2003 Alianza Latina Member Survey, participants identified fighting stigma as the number one priority. The World Fellowship Works with World Bodies to develop policies that promote better care; we train organizations to strengthen advocacy in their own countries.

Our new book, Families as Partners in Mental Health Care: A Guide for Implementing Family Work, for professionals advocates for inclusion of families as part of the health care team.
